The INSAFEDARE project participated in the EFMI Special Topic Conference (STC) 2026, held from 29–31 October 2026 at the Divani Palace Acropolis Hotel in Athens, Greece.

Under the theme “AI in Clinical Decision Making and Education,” the conference brought together researchers, healthcare professionals, and health informatics experts to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, education, and clinical decision-making.

Presenting INSAFEDARE's Key Outcomes

A highlight of INSAFEDARE's participation was a dedicated Workshop & Demo, held on 29 October, from 15:00 to 16:00, in the Erechthion Room.

The session provided an opportunity to introduce the project's objectives and present key developments supporting trustworthy, transparent, and responsible digital health technologies.

The workshop programme included:

  • INSAFEDARE Project Overview: An introduction to the project's objectives, approach, and achievements by the University of Birmingham team.

  • INSAFEDARE FAIRness Tool: A presentation demonstrating the project's approach to fairness assessment.

  • INSAFEDARE Syllabus & Training Platform: An overview of the project's educational resources and training programme for stakeholders involved in digital health and medical device regulation.

  • Open Discussion: An interactive exchange with participants on the tools, their potential applications, and future opportunities.

Strengthening Knowledge Exchange and Dissemination

INSAFEDARE's presence at EFMI STC 2026 formed part of the project's wider dissemination activities, connecting its research outcomes with the European health informatics community.

The workshop offered an opportunity to share practical project results, engage with relevant stakeholders, and encourage further exploration of the INSAFEDARE tools and training resources.

As the project approaches its conclusion, participation in EFMI STC 2026 represents another important step in communicating its contributions to trustworthy AI, regulatory decision support, and responsible innovation in digital health.
